Tato práce se zaměřuje na porovnání úrovně úmrtnosti podle věku, pohlaví a vybraných příčin smrti v České republice a Spojených státech amerických za posledních dvacet let. Cílem analýzy je zhodnotit trendy vývoje úmrtnosti pomocí základních ukazatelů, přičemž specificky sleduje situaci, kdy délka života mužů a žen je v Česku aktuálně významně vyšší. Zásadní pozornost je věnována úmrtnostním krizím, které obě země v posledních letech zasáhly, a vlivu hospodářského a sociálního kontextu na pozorované trendy.

This thesis examines a comparison of mortality by age, gender, and selected causes of death in the Czech Republic and the United States over the past twenty years. The aim of the analysis is to evaluate mortality trends using basic indicators, specifically focusing on the situation where the life expectancy of both males and females is currently significantly higher in the Czech Republic. Special attention is given to the mortality crises that have affected both countries in recent years and to the impact of economic and social contexts on the observed trends.
