Cracks in concrete structures are often caused by significant changes in temperature or exposure to neutron radiation. These cracks can compromise the structural integrity of the material, making their detection and quantification crucial for ensuring safety and durability. Traditional methods of measuring material resilience rely on proxy metrics based on crack quantification. However, recent advancements in imaging technology have provided opportunities to enhance crack analysis through comprehensive video data.

Objective:
The objective of this diploma thesis is to develop algorithms for the detection and description of cracks in concrete structures using video analysis. This involves devising methodologies for quantifying damage based on the complete rotation of samples (360°) under both direct and lateral illumination. The proposed algorithms will enable accurate crack detection and characterization, contributing to improved understanding and management of structural integrity issues in concrete materials.

Tasks:
- Develop algorithms for crack detection in concrete structures based on video analysis.
- Design methodologies for quantifying the extent of damage in concrete samples using rotational video data.
- Implement the developed algorithms and methodologies for testing on available samples.
- Analyze the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed crack detection and quantification techniques.
- Summarize findings and propose recommendations for further research or practical applications.

Deliverables:
- Algorithmic implementations for crack detection and quantification.
- Methodological framework for utilizing rotational video data in crack analysis.
- Test results demonstrating the performance of developed algorithms and methodologies.
- Comprehensive report detailing the research methodology, results, and conclusions.
