The thesis will focus on the post war period, precisely the first decade of post war time (1945 ~ 1955) to research the reparation costs and distribution of compensation provided by Japan and Germany.
War crimes that occurred during the WWII has left huge impact on political and ethical philosophy. War itself being destructive human activity to the society has been followed up by the vanquished nations to pay the reparation and compensation for the war costs and war crimes. As well war criminals were stood on trials, judged and sentenced in consequence to their criminal acts.
After war, in 1945 July, a conference in Potsdam, Germany, has settled an agreement named Potsdam Declaration which made Axis nations to pay for the damage caused to the Allies nations.
The thesis will compare the value of compensation in justice and ethical philosophical view from the 20th century philosophers, Hannah Arendt and Jürgen Habermas, to understand the moral disturbance and disorder of the war and war crime. As well the thesis will reflect on economical situation of the two nations during the proposed time period accessing if the compensation was provided in an appropriate amount of punishment levied by the two nations.

Developmental hypotheses and Obstacles
The superpowers in allies nation could have been compensated more than that of weaker countries
In the modern society, Japan may have less awareness of war crime cause by the Empire of Japan than that of Germany during the World War II
The economic benefit both nations took by abusive activities are incalculable to be ethically and morally compensated and compensation is not fulfilled
Historical evidences and traces of war crime were clandestinely occurred and is rather impossible to collect

Methodology:
The thesis is
1. to develop a conclusive reflection of the consequance of WWII and the compensation by reflecting on political philosophy and value theory of economics.
2. outline the war destruction and war crime caused by WWII.
3. outline the first decade of post war period’s war compensation and reparation submitted by Germany and Japan.
4. to assess and reflect these two points on bases of 20th century political philosophers H. Arendt and Jurgen Habermas.
5. To assess monetary compensation by applying value theory in economic aspects to see if the sum of compensation was reasonable and valid.
6. To reflect and assess , whether the Japanese and German compensation were reasonable or not.
