It will be conducted screening ~40 species of plants of the family Amaryllidaceae, which includes preparation of alkaloid extracts, the GC/MS analysis of these extracts and testing on various biological activities. On the basis of this study at least two plants will be selected and phytochemical studied. The aim of the isolation part of the work will be to obtain the greatest number of pure alkaloids, their structural identification, in case of isolation of novel compounds, hitherto undescribed structure, their complete identification by spectroscopic methods (NMR, MS, Hi-Res MS, X-rays, etc.). All isolated compounds will be tested on the spectrum of their biological activities (e.g. inhibition of HuAChE, HuBuChE, POP, cytotoxicity, antimicrobial activity and further cooperation in the framework attached). Based on these tests, the most active substances will be selected for the preparation of their semisynthetic analogues; these analogues will be tested on their biological activity (SAR-study). The results of performed experiment should be published in journal with phytochemical area.
