V úvodní části nastiňuje problematiku získávání zdrojů a definice terorismu, také zmiňuje historické pozadí této politiky. Ve výzkumné části analyzuje oficiální prohlášení státních činitelů a veřejné mínění americké společnosti. Klade si výzkumné otázky, na které hledá odpovědi skrze kvalitativní výzkum a metodu diskurzivní analýzy. V závěru práce jsou shrnuta zjištění a podány podněty pro další bádání.

This paper focuses on the social and political background of the American War on Terror policy, specifically on the operation Neptune Spear leading to the targeted killing of Osama bin Laden, one of Al-Qaeda’s leading personas. The introductory part outlines the problematics of obtaining relevant sources and defining terrorism and reminds of the historical background of War on Terror. The research part analyzes the official statements of state representatives and the opinions of American citizens. Furthermore, it presents research questions and answers them through qualitative research and discourse analysis. The summary encapsulates the results of this analysis and mentions a stimulus for further research.
