Předběžná náplň práce
According to the World Health Organization, a person commits suicide somewhere in the world, every 40 seconds. World Health Organization considers suicide is an emerging and serious public health issue in India.
While covid 19 had become the major political agenda and global concern, social issues like suicides are losing their voice in the society, such topics losing their recognition or if the fight to solve them starts diminishing then a country like India should not expect itself to be able to develop to its full and real potential. Suicides are common and prevalent even in youth and causes significant damage to labor market as well, other than disrupting the lives of everyone close to them. Suicides in India went up in 2020 during COVID-19 pandemic, by 10 percent up from the previous year, according to the latest data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), what were some of the factors which might have contributed to the unprecedented increase of suicide rates in India during the pandemic of Covid-19? How have suicide prevention centers and NGOs dealt with the increase in suicides in the pandemic? According to the centers' and NGOs' staff, how did the number of people at risk of suicide increase in the pandemic and why? What factors do they think are contributing most to the increase in suicides?

My research will comply with Suicidal risk guidance of the University of British Columbia,
