Předběžná náplň práce
This study aims to put forth the potential use of soundmapping as a pedagogical instrument in music education. It will explore how soundmapping can be an effective tool of educating lower secondary school students aged 12-13 in Prague. It is based on the anticipation that soundmapping enhances engagement and fosters environmental awareness and mindfulness. The primary research method will be participant observation, in which students will perform several soundwalks during their music classes to collectively create a soundmap of Prague and reflect on the various emotional stimuli they encountered. Additionally, subsequent surveys will be conducted to evaluate the impact of the soundmapping project on their learning outcomes and experience. With these methods, the aim is not only to foster environmental mindfulness and community engagement, but also to support more memorable learning due to emotional association. By examining the educational benefits and outcomes of soundmapping in a community-based learning context, the main purpose of this research is to contribute to the development of innovative teaching practices in music education that promote a profound connection to the sounds of nature.
