Zásady pro vypracování

Diplomová práce se zabývá klasifikací deskriptivních teorií, které se snaží popsat stav západní společnosti a kultury ve 21. století. V tomto kontextu je nejčastěji skloňovaným slovem „postmodernismus“, což je dle mnoha myslitelů již pojmem, který ztrácí svou schopnost společnost popsat nebo ji dle jiných nikdy pořádně nevystihoval. Tato práce se zabývá právě těmi teoriemi, které mají být buď nástupci postmodernismu, nebo jeho náhradou. Konkrétně byly vybrány teorie metamodernismu Timothea Vermeleuna a Robina van den Akkera, post postmodernismu Jeffreyho Nealona, digimodernismu Alana Kirbyho, tekuté modernity Zygmunta Baumana, supermodernity Marca Augého a hypermodernity Gillese Lipovetského.

Předběžná náplň práce

Výzkumnou otázkou práce je, zda je možné mezi zvolenými teoriemi najít styčné plochy, na základě kterých je lze roztřídit do hyperonymních skupin (metapopisů). Klasifikace tohoto rázu může být užitečná pro vytvoření mapy dnešního uvažování o společnosti. Tato klasifikační mapa by pak dále ze své podstaty byla otevřená pro zanesení nově vznikajících teorií a v budoucnu posloužila k jejich porovnání a propojení s jim příbuznými teoriemi. Tímto způsobem si tato práce klade za cíl zpřehlednit deskriptivní oblast zkoumání společnosti. Vzhledem k tomu, že všechny vybrané teorie popisují stejnou civilizační sféru (západní společnost), tak hypotézou zde je, že zmíněná klasifikace je možná.

Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce

The diploma thesis deals with the classification of descriptive theories which strive to describe the state of the western society and culture in the 21st century. In this context, the most frequently mentioned word is "postmodernism", which, according to many thinkers, is already a concept that has lost its ability to describe society or, according to others, has never properly described it in the first place. This thesis is concerned with precisely such theories which are supposed to be either the successors to postmodernism or its replacement. In particular, the theories selected are Timothee Vermeleun and Robin van den Akker's metamodernism, Jeffrey Nealon's post-postmodernism, Alan Kirby's digimodernism, Zygmunt Bauman's liquid modernity, and Gilles Lipovetsky's hypermodernity.
The research question of the thesis is whether it is possible to find intersections between the chosen theories, on the basis of which the theories could be sorted into hypernym groups (metadescriptions). Such a classification should prove to be useful for the creation of a map of contemporary modes of thinking about society. By its very nature, this map would be open to the incorporation of newly emerging theories and, in the future, would serve to compare and integrate them with other related theories. In this way, the descriptive field of inquiry into society would be made more transparent. Since all the theories selected describe the same civilisational area (the Western civilisation), the hypothesis proposed is that the classification in question is possible.
