Předběžná náplň práce

Dětský televizní seriál o Panovi Tau představoval první z mnoha koprodukcí mezi SRN a Československem během takzvané normalizace. Projekt zaznamenal velký úspěch, paradoxně mnohem intenzivnější v SRN. Tato bakalářská práce vychází z toho, že koncept dětství je jedním z ústředních témat v Panovi Tau. Text se snaží analyzovat význam tohoto konceptu ve vztahu k úspěchu seriálu na obou stranách železné opony. Text se hlásí ke konceptům historické antropologie (van Dülmen 2000) a také konceptům kultury Clifforda Geertze (1973) a poskytuje analýzu a interpretaci několika klíčových kulturních konceptů, propojených s reprezentacemi dětství v seriálu Pan Tau: koncept stárnutí a dospívání, koncept řádného dětství a koncept vztahování se autoritě a jejího zobrazování. Výzkum se zaměří zejména na performanci několika dětských postav ve smyslu projevování výše zmíněných konceptů.

Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce

The children’s series Pan Tau was the first of many co-productions between West Germany and Czechoslovakia during so called Normalization. It was a considerable success in both countries, but paradoxically even more so in West Germany. This thesis establishes “childhood” as one of the central themes in Pan Tau and aims to analyse its relevance to the success of the show across the Iron Curtain. Adhering to the concepts of historical anthropology (van Dülmen 2000) and based on concept of culture by Clifford Geertz (1973), the thesis analyses and provides interpretation of several central cultural concepts, connected with Pan Tau’s representations of childhood: the concept of growing up and maturing, the concept of proper childhood and the concept of dealing with and representing authority. The research will focus on a performance of a number of child characters and their specific interpretation of concepts mentioned above.
