In the last decades, great progress has been made in the development of nanotechnologies and nanomaterials related to various applications in medicine, including topical application. Nanocarriers of various types have shown potentials in dermal delivery to treat skin diseases. The wide range of various studies, however, are the main issue to define general outcomes. The aim of this thesis will be a broad literature survey of the current state of knowledge of application of nanotechnologies to treat selected skin diseases (e.g., skin inflammatory diseases, precancerous and cancerous stages). The student will use several different scientific databases to compare the survey results. The thesis should be focused on following questions: What types of nanotechnologies have been used in treatment of skin diseases and how are they efficient? How the various nanoparticulate systems interact with the skin barrier and skin tissue? What are the modes of action of the efficient nanoparticulate systems? |
