Feminist identity development is an identity development theory developed by Downing and Roush in 1984. The theory is inspired by the five-stage identity model created by Cross (1979) for the black minority. As it is frequently mentioned in the literature, the theory needs to be researched and developed in different cultures, different age groups, and different samples. In my study, I would like to work with women that identify themselves as feminists and who live in Turkey, Ankara. I hope that with this study, we can illuminate the developing stages of women as they acquire a feminist identity.
