Předběžná náplň práce

Práce se bude věnovat americké zahraniční politice na Blízkém východě po Suezské krizi, která zapříčinila, že se Spojené státy musely do budoucna více angažovat na Blízkém východě. Práce nastíní vznik Eisenhowerovy doktríny, která měla bojovat proti pronikání vlivu SSSR v tomto regionu a izolovat prosovětské státy, např. Egypt. Práce zanalyzuje změní doktríny její aspekty a cíle. Poté bude k těmto aspektům předkládat příklady použití doktríny a hodnotit, zda byla doktrína naplněna, nebo ne. Dále bude práce zkoumat americké hledání spojence v Saúdské Arábii a Iráku, mezi lety 1957 a 1958.
