Předběžná náplň práce

Bakalářská práce se zabývá územním sporem mezi Sovětským svazem (později Ruskou federací) a Japonskem o čtyři nejjižnější ostrovy Kurilského souostroví Šikotan, Kunaširi, Etorofu a Habomajské ostrovy, které Japonci označují jako „Severní teritoria“. Od konce druhé světové války tyto ostrovy de facto patří Ruské federaci. Spor se doposud nepodařilo vyřešit žádnou mírovou smlouvou, i když se jím mnohé smlouvy v historii zabývaly. Ruská pozice se v průběhu let proměnila z ochoty přenechat Japonsku dva sporné ostrovy do stavu, kdy se Rusové nechtějí vzdát žádného území. Japonsko po celou dobu existence sporu požaduje od Ruska všechny čtyři sporné ostrovy. Stejně se k problému obě země staví i v současnosti. V práci je kromě představení vývoje územního sporu kladen důraz na aspekty, které brání oběma stranám konflikt vyřešit. Pozornost je věnována strategicko-vojenskému aspektu, ekonomickým důvodům, mocenským důvodům, problémům již uzavřených dohod a veřejnému mínění.

Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce

The text focuses on territorial dispute between Russia and Japan on the islands of Shikotan, Kunashiri, Etorofu and Habomai islands, which the Japanese call their „Northern Territories“. Since the World War II, the islands de facto belong to the Soviet Union, later Russian Federation. So far, no peace treaty has resolved this dispute, even though some treaties in history tried to deal with it. Over the years, Russia's position has changed from a willingness to transfer to Japan two of the disputed islands to a state where the Russians do not want to give up any territory. Throughout the dispute, Japan has demanded all four disputed islands from Russia. The position of both countries has not changed to the present. In addition to presenting the development of the territorial dispute, the thesis emphasizes the aspects that impede both countries from resolving the conflict. Attention is paid to the strategic-military aspect, economic reasons, power reasons, problems of already concluded agreements and public opinion.
