Předběžná náplň práce
The large presence of Russian citizens in Georgia's breakaway autonomous regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia has been regarded as one of the main reasons for increased Russian involvement these regions, particularly during the August 2008 war between Georgia and Russia. This paper critically examines the Kremlin's mass conferral of Russian citizenship, i.e. passportization policy, in the context of preceding Russo-Georgian relationship dynamics. Legal aspects of passportization will be coupled with relevant geopolitical analysis in order to make a case study and demonstrate the overall nature of this policy in the light of preceding developments."
Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce
The aim of this research is to critically assess the political transition of selected CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) countries and their EU accession. Theory of imprinting will be used to examine how the past, namely, the Communist system shaped the public institutions in these soon to be independent countries, which later took a reformist path in order to become members of the European political family. Ulteriorly, path dependence theory will be used to explain the generally fickle outcome of these integration-driven transformations. All in all, the research will be carried out in comparative fashion, outlining both similarities and differences between selected countries, however, the reasons behind certain successes will also be discussed. In addition, the recent radical and Eurosceptic sentiments will be taken into consideration in the light of reflexivity
