| The goal of this thesis is to design and implement a tool that will enable users to effortlessly compare and merge different revisions of program source codes or entire revisions of an application project. The tool should support merging both two (2-way) and three (3-way) different revisions of files and/or directories. The tool should be easily extensible with plugins when a different or more specific functionality is needed, and should provide both GUI and console-oriented user interfaces. Namely, the console interface should allow integration with a selected popular versioning system toolset, the GUI should focus on common user workflows and allow for intuitive visualization of the differences between compared files, merging of files and directories, and in general easy resolving of version conflicts. The implemented tool should work at least on current desktop versions of Microsoft Windows operating system. |
