Diplomová práce se zabývá charakteristikou mediálního obrazu události, kterou je únos dvou Češek v Pákistánu a analyzuje způsob, jímž vybraná česká média o události informovala. Práce se skládá z teoretické části, která představuje relevantní teoretické koncepty a rámce, metodologické části, jenž objasňuje náležitosti výzkumu, metodu zkoumání, charakteristiku výzkumného vzorku a sledovaného období a analytické části, která představuje výsledky provedeného zkoumání doplněné pro lepší názornost o grafické znázornění. Třetí část diplomové práce zároveň odpovídá na stanovené výzkumné otázky a hypotézy. Podstatou práce je kvalitativní a kvantitativní analýza obsahu čtyř českých zpravodajských serverů za sledované období od března 2013 do poloviny dubna 2015. Vybranými médii jsou Blesk.cz, iDnes.cz, Novinky.cz a Reflex.cz, které reprezentují jedny z nejčtenějších zpravodajských serverů v České republice. Kvantitativní analýza se zaměřuje na frekvenci, s jakou média o únosu českých turistek informovala, na využívané zdroje, na důležitost tématu v rámci příspěvku, na žurnalistický žánr jednotlivých článků a další aspekty. Kvalitativní metoda je zaměřena na významový obsah jednotlivých příspěvků a objasňuje, s jakými tématy byl únos českých turistek v Pákistánu nejčastěji spojován či v jakém kontextu jej média uváděla.

The thesis focuses on describing the media image of the abduction of two Czech women in Pakistan, which occurred in March 2013. It aims to analyze the manner in which the selected Czech media informed about the incident. This thesis consists of three parts: theoretical part, methodological part and analytical part. Theoretical part introduces theoretical concepts and frameworks relevant to the actual analysis, methodological part explains the essentials and methods of research, defines the research sample and the reference period. The final analytical part presents the results of the actual research as well as answers the research questions and hypotheses. In order to increase clarity, the results are shown in graphs and tables. The core of the theses is a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the contents of four Czech news servers for the period from March 2013 to mid-April 2015. The selected media are Blesk.cz, iDnes.cz, Novinky.cz and Reflex.cz, which represent one of the most popular and read news sites in the Czech Republic. The quantitative part focuses on the frequency with which the monitored media informed about the abduction Czech tourists, the information sources that were used, the importance of the topic within the particular articles and other aspects. Consequently, the qualitative part focuses on the semantic content of the individual contributions and characterizes the topics and frames most often associated with the abduction of two Czech women in Pakistan.
