The thesis analyses the development of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and the Irish Football Association (IFA) since 1998. It considers both organizations as objects in the cultural memories of the two antagonistic communities of Northern Ireland and aims to answer how they have developed since the signing of the Belfast Agreement which ended the armed conflict in the region. It also identifies the reasons for any changes in the image of the GAA and the IFA and for their different development.
