NKp65 and KACL are two only recently discovered lectin receptors of human immunocytes that form together a receptor - ligand pair, thereby recognizing each other. In contrary to other related pairs of lectin receptors, an unusually high interaction constant was published for NKp65 and KACL receptors. This suggests that complex of these two receptors might be stable enough to allow for its structural characterization by protein crystallography (structure of none of the related receptor complexes has been solved yet). Aim of the thesis is the production of soluble forms of these receptors in HEK293 cell line and the study of their complex formation by methods of structural biology.
