Studium oboru Norská studia se uskutečňuje v Oddělení skandinavistiky, které je součástí Ústavu germánských studií na Filozofické fakultě UK v Praze. Obor se profiluje jako filologický, tzn. je zaměřený převážně na jazyk a literaturu, ale zahrnuje i studium dějin, kultury a reálií Dánska, Norska, Švédska a Islandu.

Learning outcomes

Absolvent má základní znalost norštiny (na úrovni B2 ERR). Zná reálie Norska a literaturu, kulturu a historii celé Skandinávie. Uplatní se např. ve firmách obchodujících se Skandinávií, ve skandinávských firmách v ČR, v kulturních institucích, ve státní správě, ve sdělovacích prostředcích, v zastupitelských úřadech a v cestovním ruchu.

Study profile

Students can major in Norwegian Studies at The Scandinavian Section of the Department of Germanic Studies at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague. The major is designed as philological, i.e., it mainly concentrates on the study of language and literature, but it also includes the study of history, culture and society of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland.

Learning outcomes

Graduates have a basic knowledge of Norwegian (at EFRL level B2) and are acquainted with Norwegian institutions and Scandinavian literature, culture and history. They can pursue careers in companies trading with Scandinavia, Scandinavian companies in the Czech Republic, cultural institutions, the public sector, the media, as embassy employees and in tourism.
