The aim of this course is to elucidate the key concepts of sociology, as the scientific study of social relations,
institutions and societies. The subject matter of sociology is our own behaviour as social being. The span of
sociology is extremely wide, ranging from the analysis of passing encountering between individuals in the street
up to the investigation global society. The main theme of the course is sociological perspective; theories of
sociology; methods of sociological research and selected sub-disciplines of sociology particularly social
stratification, sociology of social power, nation nationalism and citizens; sociology of religion and globalization.

Type of the course: Lecture. This course is recommended for students, who already studied the introduction to sociology. It is open to Erasmus students and strongly recommended to SHV AJ students as it partially works with the literature for the Comprehensive Exam in Social Sciences.
