This course allows a student to understand the developmental relationship of language skills and literacy development. In essence, it explains the meaning of the concept of so-called pre-literacy. Based on current research knowledge of literature and current research shows how specific aspects of language skills affect the development of the various stages of literacy development, ie initial reading, decoding and reading comprehension. The aim of the course is to enable the application of knowledge about the context of language and literacy skills in the practice of psychological counselling, especially in the field of work with children with learning difficulties.
