Předběžná náplň práce
This research paper discusses the behavioral effects of Teichopolitics, the politics of border construction, and hardening in light of the Migration Crisis of 2015. The waves of migration toward the EU, triggered by regional conflicts in MENA countries, placed the European Union in the position of mandating a particular set of border policies. The V4 countries opposed the blatant open-door policies, for which the Western European States heavily criticized them. This research paper aims to demonstrate that, over time Member States of the EU construct borders and legal hurdles to decelerate migration influx, adopting a similar stance to the V4’s initial approach towards migration. With the help of qualitative analysis, the paper will demonstrate the rise of anti-immigration sentiment fueled by Populist, right-wing political parties throughout Europe correlating at the time of the migration waves. Discussing migration policies goes hand-in-hand with Teichopolitics, which will be proven in this paper.
