Studenti v bakalářském studijním oboru Divadelní věda jsou primárně seznamováni se základními metodologickými přístupy ke zkoumání teorie a dějin divadla, jsou vedeni k osvojování si nástrojů k samostatnému uvažování o umění a kultuře s důrazem na živé umění divadelní. Nedílnou součástí tohoto vzdělávacího procesu je přirozeně studium dějin světového a českého divadla. Studium klade důraz na oblast dějin českého divadla (s důrazem na české divadlo 19.-20. století a divadlo současné), vybrané kapitoly z dějin divadla světového, teorii divadla a dramatu a na tvůrčí schopnosti studentů formulovat své vlastní postřehy a zkušenosti. Přemýšlení o divadle v historických a teoretických souvislostech je navíc doplňováno o sledování aktuálních podob divadla, včetně hraničních, interdisciplinárních přesahů divadelního umění do dalších uměleckých oblastí (nová média, film, performativní umění, cirkus aj.).
Learning outcomes
U absolventa tříletého bakalářského studia se předpokládá orientace v kulturním a uměleckém prostředí, schopnost pracovat s odbornou literaturou a samostatně uvažovat nad problémy a analyzovat umělecké artefakty. Vzhledem k těmto dovednostem a předpokládanému osvojení alespoň jednoho cizího jazyka lze očekávat jeho možné uplatnění v rozmanitých kulturních či kulturně-politických institucích (média, divadlo, kulturní centra aj.), stejně jako možnost pokračovat ve studiu v navazujícím magisterském studiu na totožném či jinak spřízněném (zejména uměnovědném oboru).
Study profile
Undergraduate students of Theatre Studies are primarily taught basic methodological approaches to the study of theory and history of theatre. The undergraduate programme aims to provide students with tools which foster their independent thinking about art and culture with a particular emphasis on live theatre art. An integral part of the curriculum is the history of both world and Czech theatre. The programme offers courses in the history of Czech theatre (with an emphasis on the Czech theatre of the 19th and 20th century, as well as contemporary theatre), selected chapters from the history of world theatre, and theory of theatre and drama. Apart from the knowledge-based education, the Department of Theatre Studies seeks to cultivate students’ creative skills to formulate their own observations and experiences. The historically and theoretically oriented programme is accompanied with courses that systematically monitor current forms of theatre, including interdisciplinary forms of performing arts and other artistic areas (new media, film, performance art, circus etc.).
Learning outcomes
The graduate of the three-year bachelor’s course will be acquainted with the cultural and artistic environment, and will be able to use specialist literature, reflect independently on cultural issues and analyse artistic artefacts. These skills and the command of at least one foreign language, attained before graduation, enable the graduate to pursue a career in various cultural or cultural-political institutions (the media, theatre, cultural centres, etc.), or to continue with a master’s degree in the same or related fields (especially art history).
