SP characteristics

The study programme has two basic aims: (1) to train excellent graduates ready for follow-up Master’s programme in sociology at the CU FA or any other domestic and international university, and (2) to equip graduates with fundamental skills in sociology and economics which are expected in graduates of a Bachelor’s programme in sociology (with economics) entering the labour market. While the first set of skills is provided by the study programme as a whole, the second set of skills is taught in a series of methodological courses as practical skills in sociological research are of paramount importance for any type of employment of a Bachelor’s graduate.
The programme comprises direct instruction in core subjects but also relies on extensive independent input from students in seminars, enabling them to actively acquire skills and knowledge and teaching them to apply these skills in practice.
