The study program Bioanalytical Laboratory Diagnostics in Health Care is focused on education of health care professionals specialized for work in clinical laboratories, transfusion and hygiene services. It prepares graduates for organizational management of these workplaces in health facilities of the state and private sectors. It also allows graduates to practice a regulated medical profession as a Specialist in laboratory methods.

Graduate profile for the public:
A graduate of Bioanalytical Laboratory Diagnostics in Health Care study program is qualified in the fields of clinical diagnostics, instrumental analysis, clinical biochemistry, microbiology and immunology, molecular biological methods, hematology and transfusion medicine, methodological procedures for the preparation of drugs (§3 of No. 84/2008 Coll.). They are able to control the appropriate instrumentation including automation, statistical methods and computing. They follow the regulations related to the operations in clinical and biological laboratories, occupational safety, disease control and the principles of preparation of drugs and good laboratory practice. The graduate is able to select, perform and interpret the results of analyses and methodical procedures within diagnostic monitoring, therapeutic and preventive activities. Graduates will have a thorough theoretical and practical knowledge to work on development and testing of new analytical methods, diagnostic kits, preparation of reagents and substances for diagnostics as well as for production and control of the quality and effectiveness of therapeutic preparations and drugs. Graduates of the study program Bioanalytical Laboratory Diagnostics in Health Care are entitled to pursue a regulated health profession as a Specialist in laboratory methods.
