SP characteristics
The aim of the Czech-German Studies Programme is to provide students with a qualified contextual (general) and regional (professional) knowledge and analytical-synthetic (special) skills within this regional specialization. Great emphasis is placed on teaching specialized courses in German and on the ability to work independently in this language, which is verified during a two-semester stay at the University of Regensburg.
The programme leads to understanding and acquiring detailed knowledge in specialized disciplinary modules, in addition to the language module, also in linguistics, literary science, cultural sciences, politics and history, and finally in law and economic history. An integral part of the study is a practice which requires applying the acquired knowledge in a professional German-language working environment. This leads to practicing the acquired knowledge and at the same time it will enable the students to gain further practical experience that will facilitate their later entry into working life.
