SP characteristics

The study program The History of Modern European Culture provides (on Charles University of Prague unique) a comprehensive education in European cultural history. It enables graduates to professionally reflect, interpret, and practically build on the cultural background of European civilization in both its history and today. The basis is the historical study of the different areas of Europe's cultural history, especially the general history of European culture and education, the religious history of Europe and European visual culture. The curriculum gives an overview of the development of these areas from the earliest to the present, but the lesson focuses on those aspects of European cultural history that are of current relevance. The so-called long 19th century and 20th century are preferred. The specificity of the study program is the emphasis on the integration of various research approaches and methods.
