SP characteristics

The aim of SP Psychology with a focus on social psychology and work psychology and clinical and health psychology is a complex preparation of experts for scientific work in terms of preparedness of knowledge level, a high level of scientific methodology and presentation of the results for domestic and international environment. Emphasis is placed on the training of specialists capable of preparing and implementing the projects and their critical scientific consultation, especiain particular in the field of applied psychology – especially in applied areas of social and developmental psychology (for instance, communication, interpersonal relationships, socialization and intercultural contexts, early psychological development, cognitive and social development of children and adolescents, geropsychology), psychology work and organization (e.g., occupational health psychology, positive organizational psychology, organization studies or managerial psychology), and selected topics from forensic psychology (e.g., criminal psychology and criminal investigation). In the field of clinical and health psychology especially in psychodiagnostice, mental disorders, psychological intervention, support and therapy, neuropsychology, developing mental health of children and adults in various interpersonal context.

Graduates of the doctoral study programme in Psychology with a focus on social psychology and work psychology and clinical and health psychology are experts in the latest and scientifically supported procedures, with a critical view of their content and, in particular, their methodological contexts. They have demonstrated profound expert knowledge of both the field and the methodology of the major topic of interest that was the subject of their dissertation project. They have a grounding in current issues in psychology and the ability to identify methods of investigation and utilise research results for practical applications. Using their acquired knowledge and research experience, they are prepared for independent creative work in basic and applied research requiring the most demanding qualifications, which contributes to the development of a given area of psychology.
