The doctoral study programme in Aesthetics provides a more comprehensive education in aesthetics in a close relation to related disciplines oriented towards arts and philosophy studied in master’s programmes. The aim is to train researchers in aesthetics fully able to stand comparison with outstanding academics abroad.

Graduate profile for the public:
The graduate of the doctoral programme has obtained a comprehensive overview of philosophical aesthetics, which is a synthesis of the theories of individual art forms, of non-art aesthetics and of the aesthetics of nature. The profound knowledge of contemporary aesthetics is supported by an understanding of the historical development of the discipline, with an emphasis on conceptual development and innovation. The graduate has been introduced to the majority of cultural and artistic domains and, due to the interdisciplinary nature of modern aesthetics, is capable of reflecting upon them from a broader perspective.
