The study equips students with a wide range of knowledge, skills and competences needed for a primary school teacher. The core of the study lies in a pedagogical-psychological and subject didactics preparation. A highly important part of the study is a reflected pedagogical practical training and an expert preparation in basics of a wide range of disciplines from which the primary school subjects originate. Students further extend their knowledge and skills in a chosen specialisation – on foreign language or one of arts subjects in a full-time study, or on one of arts subjects in a combined type of study. Students are lead to write expert texts and carry out their own research as part of seminar papers or diploma theses. The study leads students to a reflective, research-based approach towards teacher profession.

Graduate profile for the public:
A graduate has acquired professional competences which authorise them to teaching activities on primary schools, and which open ways for further professional growth for them, including doctoral studies. A graduate possesses expert knowledge in all primary school subjects. They have knowledge of individual subject didactics aimed at didactical processing of contents of study, extended in selected specialisation. They have acquired knowledge from pedagogical-psychological disciplines oriented on understanding a younger school-age children and their learning needs, on understanding the specifics of active learning and teaching at inclusive schools, on a cooperation with parents. They are prepared to reflect an everyday practice and grow professionally. They are able to write an expert text and plan as well as carry out a pedagogical research.
