SP characteristics
The study program Personalized Diagnostics and Therapy in Oncology aims to provide and enhance its students' knowledge regarding the causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of oncological diseases and their related risk factors and comorbidities, with a focus on customizing and individualizing the diagnostic and treatment processes.
In the first year of the program, doctoral students are required to complete courses in health informatics, medical statistics, computer technology, and the basics of scientific research and publishing. The primary focus of the program is carrying out a specific research task related to internal diseases that is aligned with the research focus of the doctoral student's workplace. The results of this research task are then incorporated into the student's dissertation.
Additionally, students are expected to continuously present their findings by publishing in relevant publications and giving presentations at national or international professional conferences. For full-time students, active participation in regular student scientific conferences is mandatory. Furthermore, doctoral students are required to complete a professional internship or study program abroad during their program.
