Study Program (SP) Neurology, Psychiatry and Mental Health is an academically focused SP dealing with the function of the nervous system and the mechanisms responsible for the emergence of neurological or psychiatric diseases and possibilities of their pharmacological influence from the molecular level up to to a whole organism.
The aim of the study is to prepare SP graduates for independent work in the field of basic and clinical research, to deepen the theoretical foundations in the selected field of study and to acquire methods of scientific work.
The results of their work contribute to the development of science and scientific knowledge, as well as to the development of clinical neurology and psychiatry.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduate in Doctoral Studies (PhD) Neurology, Psychiatry and Mental Health acquires deep theoretical and methodological knowledge in the field of neurology and psychiatry at the current state of knowledge. He/she identifies current problems in neurology and psychiatry, and brings his own original solutions. He/she is eligible to perform the profession of a researcher in neurology and psychiatry. He/she will acquire the scientific research methods and principles of independent scientific work and teamwork, problem identification, formulation and evidence of hypotheses, as well as ethical, legal and social aspects of scientific work. The results of their work contributes to the development of science and scientific knowledge, and also to the development of clinical neurology and psychiatry.
Graduates are able to lead smaller teams of researchers, lead research projects, design grants, carry out clinical studies, take responsibility for complex solutions to scientific problems. He / she knows the basics of statistics and is able to choose adequate methods for processing the results and their presentation at the current level of technology. He is able to interpret the obtained results in the context of the current state of knowledge. The graduate masters clinical diagnosis and treatment of neurological or psychiatric diseases to an adequate extent.
