SP characteristics

Dermatovenereology is one of the basic clinical medical disciplines. The issue of cutaneous and sexually transmitted diseases also extends to other medical fields such as internal diseases, infections and epidemiology, surgery, oncology and others. The results of clinical research are applied in medical practice, especially regarding new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. The related research also plays an important role in the prevention of serious skin diseases, such as immune- mediated inflammatory dermatoses, cancer and sexually transmitted diseases.

The study of Dermatovenereology covers the area of cutaneous and sexually transmitted diseases involving the issues of basic and clinical research. The results of research activities imply in the daily clinical practice regarding the cognition of dermatoses etiopathogenesis and novel therapeutical modalities and diagnostic approaches introduction. Research outcomes also improve preventive measures to decrease the incidence of cutaneous and sexually transmitted diseases along with the development of associated disorders and adverse events. The study profiles qualified experts in Dermatovenereology, fully capable of further long term scientific and research activities as well as educational work. The study conception is determined by the council of leading specialists in the field of Dermatovenereology.
