SP characteristics

The study programme aims to educate scientists in the didactics of integrated science and environmental disciplines. The need for such a study programme arises both from the current possibility of implementing an integrated approach to teaching in the field of natural sciences in lower and upper secondary education and from the growing demands of society to emphasise a comprehensive understanding of the contemporary world (e.g. in the field of environmental or sustainability). This degree programme aims to produce professionals who will be able to conduct research and communicate information to an informed public in the areas of integrated science education, which requires a more holistic approach to the curriculum, the search for optimal ways to communicate information to students, and research in undergraduate and in-service teacher education.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates of the study programme are able to conduct independent research in the field of didactics of natural sciences, including environmental sciences. The graduate has a good knowledge of the natural sciences and can meaningfully integrate and transfer this knowledge into research and practical application. They can find employment not only in the academic sphere in the Czech Republic and abroad, but also in the field of excise (public administration). This application consists mainly in the ability to conduct research investigations in various organisations, analyse available data and draw conclusions for decision-making at the national level.
