Graduate profile for the public:
The graduate of the interdisciplinary doctoral programme Applied Physics and Mathematics in Medicine and Pharmacy is versatile and prepared to work in an academic-scientific research workplace (e.g. in biophysical and pharmaceutical laboratories, in interdisciplinary teams in clinics or workplaces developing medical products, aids, devices of software) with a biomedical focus. The graduate has a detailed overview of medical biophysics and or mathematical biology in pharmacy and related medical, scientific, and technical fields. She/he can apply and extend biophysical or biostatistical research methods in scientific work at all levels, from basic to applied research. She/he can independently and critically evaluate new knowledge in accordance with the principles of evidence-based medicine and pharmacy, design a scientific experiment to address scientific questions of a biophysical, mathematical, or bio-informatic nature, prepare a grant application for research support, and interpret, discuss, and present the results of scientific work.
