The objective of the Master degree study programme is gaining the professional qualification and competence to practice the medical profession in the territory of the Czech Republic in prophylactic, diagnostic, therapeutic, remedial rehabilitation, dispensary and palliative care. This professional qualification is obtained by passing the six-year full-time studies, comprising theoretical as well as practical education at the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague.
The goal is education of a physician with wide general medical background, thorough and modern theoretical knowledge, who will be able to think and work both scientifically and clinically, to communicate at the due level, well-prepared to provide basic medical care and willing to educate themselves further and specialize in a certain branch of medicine or for specific positions in the health service.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates in medicine are fit to practice the profession in all fields of therapeutic and prophylactic care of adults and children, as well as in the fields of public health, hygiene and epidemiology, and therefore in the institutions that are concerned with the above fields and base their activity upon them. They should be able
• to identify states that endanger the life and provide qualified aid;
• to take the correct history in examination of the patient, indicate the necessary investigations using modern technology and basic laboratory methods, and correctly interpret their findings;
• to perform the therapeutic and nursing tasks provided by the Ministry of Health Regulation number 280/2018 Coll.;
• to communicate with patients, their relatives or escorts and with specialists in other medical fields in an appropriate manner;
• to have sufficient knowledge of moral, ethic, legal and economic aspects of the prospective medical practice.
