Doctoral studies include general studies, used to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for scientific work and critical thinking, as well as specialized studies including the diagnosis and treatment of cancer diseases. Parts of the study are the basics in the field of diagnostics, which is focused on the ability to use current examination options such as ultrasound, CT, MRI as well as molecular biological methods such as histopathological analysis, tumor markers, omics and others. The field of treatment is focused on the use of all available treatment modalities associated with radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted anti-tumor treatment, immunotherapy, supportive, symptomatic and also palliative oncological treatment. These skills are included to the extent appropriate for the student's future work in the fields of clinical oncology and radiotherapy and related research. The standard duration of study is 4 years, the study ends with the defense of a doctoral dissertation, the graduate receives the title "Ph.D."

It has a detailed overview of the subject of clinical and radiation oncology enriched by practical experience in laboratory work and work with patients. He applies this knowledge in scientific work in the clinical practice. He knows the methods of experimental and clinical work. Can independently critically evaluate new findings in accordance with the principles of evidence-based medicine, design a scientific experiment to address scientific questions related to oncology issues, prepare an application for research grant support, manage a small team, interpret, discuss and present the results of scientific work.
