Graduate profile for the public:
Graduate of DSP Medical and Pharmaceutical Microbiology are highly qualified experts, who are versatile for further work at an academia or research with a biomedical focus. They obtain a detailed knowledge of medical and clinical microbiology, antimicrobial pharmacotherapy, molecular epidemiology, genomic and proteomic methods in biomedical research. This knowledge is applied during research work in microbiological or pharmaceutical laboratory, as well as in epidemiological departments. The students acquire the skills and methodology used in biomedical research and are able to apply methods of phenotypic and genotypic diagnostics of microbes, techniques of molecular diagnostics and epidemiology. In addition, they obtain overview of strategies in pharmaceutical design The graduates can independently and critically evaluate new findings in accordance with evidence-based principles of medicine, propose a scientific experiment to solve scientific questions of a medical microbiology nature, prepare a grant application for research support, manage a small team, interpret, discuss and present the results of the scientific work.
