The professional profile of the study programme is clinical nutrition of the metabolism. It builds up on the basic medical education and Masters study programme Nutrition Specialist (clinical nutritional therapist), which is accredited at the faculty.
The goal of the doctoral study programme Nutritional and Metabolic Sciences is the training of specialists with deep knowledge of nutrition and metabolism. This includes knowledge from wide areas of clinical nutrition, diets, metabolism, physiological and pathophysiological effects of nutrients, including deep knowledge of their properties.

Graduate profile for the public:
A graduate of the Doctoral Program in the field of Nutrition and Metabolic Sciences acquires a comprehensive education aiming to achieve transdisciplinary research excellence in the identification of individual risk factors of metabolic diseases, scientific aspects of nutrition and possible therapeutic interventions, (ii) advanced knowledge and skills in clinical work in the field of nutritional intervention and metabolism and a theoretical insight into public health issues in the field. Graduate of a doctoral program gains a deep understanding of the field and its anchoring in theory, politics and its interventions, in the context of nutrition, metabolism from a transdisciplinary perspective. The combination of these pillars of study will provide graduates with a program of expertise in transdisciplinary research applied to clinical evaluation and effectiveness assessment. This makes program graduates well prepared for the needs of science and research, as well as expert positions in the public and private sectors. Their transdisciplinary backgrounds enable them to work with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines, communicate the results of their research to managers and decision-makers at inter-departmental level, and take leadership positions at a high level of expertise.
