-This field of study offers an overview of cultural-historical development and changes in society. At the same time, it specializes in certain eras or topics, primarily based on a wide spectrum of required elective seminars. The benefits of the field of study lie in its complexity together with its flexibility. There is no other field that would offer a combination of general history and history of literature with history of art and theology in this depth. For following-up Master's degree of History of European Culture one can decide during the studies to choose the main emphasize on general history and history of literature or a specialization in history of art, alternatively focusing on another social scientific specialization.

Graduate profile for the public:
-A graduate acquired the knowledge of political, economic, social, church and cultural history of Europe with special aspect to Bohemian Lands and Central Europe. Above this main frame he knows the literary, art-historical and spiritual connexions of European historical events mainly based on Judaic-Christian roots. He is endowed with languages for his research. He is prepared for work in cultural institutions documenting, administrating and protecting cultural monuments (museums, galleries and corresponding church insttitutions), in state and public institutions of cultural, informative and educational orientation, in management of culture, in publications, media, at schools and scientific institutions.
