SP characteristics

The doctoral study program is conceived as a theoretical reflection of communication and media studies with an emphasis on studying and understanding the theory and practice of media functioning, media sociology, and modern social theories. During their studies, the PhD. students will become familiar with new foreign and domestic concepts and trends in the field of media and communication studies and will acquire the ability to methodologically grasp the issue. PhD. students follow these trends in other social sciences' and humanities' contexts. The subject of study varies from media communication, network communication, strategic communication, political communication to their manifestations in the media environment. PhD. students are involved in research at the Institute, in international projects, and acquire academic, research, pedagogical and organizational skills. The results of their work are regularly presented at doctoral seminars, scientific conferences or in other creative activities.

Graduates of the doctoral program of Media and Communication Studies are well equipped to work as highly qualified experts in the fields of communication and media in academia, at the universities, in research and analytical centers. Their qualification allows them to apply their skills in managerial positions, analytical positions, spokespersons as well as media professionals in government agencies, international organizations and the whole spectrum of private sector institutions.
