SP characteristics

The follow-up master's degree programme of Pre-school Education requires a deeper theoretical, professional and research training focused on pre-school education, psychological disciplines, as well as elective and recommended elective modules (Special Education, Early Childhood Study, Environmental Education, School Management). The subjects of the curriculum are include value systems and the rights of the child, educational research, developmental psychology and psychology of personality. These are interrelated with psychological diagnostics and counselling, the relationship between pre-primary and primary education in national and foreign contexts and methodology aimed at comprehensive support of pre-literacy in pre-school education.
In the current context of changing views about pre-school children, which combine the importance of quality education with meeting children’s individual needs and future possibilities, the student is prepared for a wide range of professional competencies in the field of teaching, management, counselling and research with a focus on pre-school education.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates of the master's degree programme will demonstrate a deep theoretical understanding of pre-school education and gain a specialized professional qualification for the education and care of pre-school children. Through their independent research, students develop their conceptual understanding of innovative educational practice, school management and the assessment and intervention activities required in support of young children’s personal, social and emotional development Students will have opportunities to work as a specialist in a wide range of pre-school and social and special educational needs facilities to develop their educational and cultural values when working with families, research programmes and school inspection services.
