SP characteristics

The aim of the follow-up Masters study programme Occupational therapy for adults is preparation of the graduates so that they will be able to perform the work in the position of an occupational therapist with specialized scope of responsibilities, able to work in managerial posts, in scientific research teams and/or as an educationalist at university-level schools. The Masters level studies in occupational therapy are indispensable to maintain autonomy of the specialty and continuity of education in the field of occupational therapy, for activity in science and research, necessary for supply of new professional information from the Czech Republic and abroad, for postgraduate doctoral studies, potentially for procedures to appoint associated and/or full professors. The emphasis is on obtaining practical clinical experience, focused on obtaining the specialty qualification, termed Occupational therapist for adults.

Graduate profile for the public:
In accordance with Act No. 96/2004 Coll., graduate acquires specialized competence of the Occupational Therapist for adults, according to Government Order No. 31/2010 Coll. Graduates have theoretical and practical knowledge of specialized functional diagnostic and therapeutic methods for adults and basic aspects of pediatric occupational therapy. They can create individually targeted rehabilitation plan, communicate with the patients and family members, and have a deep understanding of health, social issues, employment and education. They are capable of working independently in the health care, education and vocational system, social services and are members of scientific research teams. They can manage teams of professionals, prepare grant proposals and scientific projects, present and publish the results of scientific research projects.
