SP characteristics

The PhD. study programme German Language and Literature with Didactics follows the finished M.A. studies of German language literature of teaching or professional focus. It strives for the interdisciplinary approach to the field (both language and literature) with focus on didactics of the education process in German philology. By deepening of gained knowledge and skills, the PhD. studies aim towards a higher degree of specialization in German linguistics and literary studies and allow, in accordance with the newest international trend, for an applied methodological-didactical approach to German linguistics and literary studies as a philology of a foreign language. As opposed to similar PhD. programmes on faculties of free arts, it also prepares for a more methodological-didactical application of the new knowledge. By combining didactics and methodology with the theory of the studied field (German language and German literatures), it conforms with today’s trend of requiring university studies to suitably combine theory with practice.
