The Bachelor's program Religion and Social Sciences for Teacher Education enables the students to acquire fundamental knowledge, skills and competences for the study of the continuing Master program Teacher Education of Religion and Social Sciences for Upper Secondary Schools. The program satisfies the demand for teaching staff in the field of religion, ethics and basics of social sciences and pedagogical workers, who are educated on the issue of religion and its role within social contexts. The program enriches traditional religious studies with additional social disciplines and interprets it in a close connection with ethics. The Bachelor's program enables the graduate to be employed as a teaching assistant, an educator in after-school clubs, a worker in educational institutions for children and youths or as a church catechist.

The graduate of the Bachelor's program Religion and Social Sciences for Teacher Education is informed about common issues of pedagogy and psychology, the basics of social sciences, religions, including their specific movements and role in the Czech society, issues of philosophy, ethics, sociology, political science, economy, law and cultural anthropology. He or she can perform independent research of resources, define and employ basic psychological and pedagogical concepts, analyse, classify and compare various pedagogical phenomena, understand the complex nature of these phenomena and their links to political, religious, philosophical, ethical, social, economic and cultural conditions of the society, understand the development of pedagogical concepts, ideas and schooling system in the context of historical development of society and culture, understand the principles of the educational process, the learning process, learning and behavioural disorders, the education of students with special educational needs and various theories of ontogenetic development of humankind.
The graduate of the program can use research methods, do pedagogical research and analyse it using simple statistical methods, prepare and present a report, write an academic paper, read and interpret texts in the field of religion, theology, philosophy and ethics, use and associate fundamental knowledge in sociology, political science, psychology, philosophy, ethics, theology, cultural anthropology and law, and moderate a discussion.
The graduate can find employment as a teaching assistant, an educator in after-school clubs, a worker in educational institutions for children and youths or church catechist.
The graduate is qualified to pursue his or her studies in the continuing Master program Teacher Education of Religion and Social Sciences for Upper Secondary Schools.
