The standard duration of the study is 3 years in the full-time form of studies. The programme is focused professionally. After successful completion of the studies, the Bachelor (Bc.) degree is awarded.
This is a professionally profiled study programme, based on fundamental medical and clinical fields. The most substantial part of the study programme is composed of special subjects specific to occupational therapy and focused on the theory and philosophy of the field of occupational therapy, its specific approaches and practice in rehabilitation across various clinical specialties.
Graduates of the Bachelor study programme of Occupational therapy can immediately start work as occupational therapists in various health care and other facilities. They are well prepared for the study in the follow-up Masters studies of Occupational therapy for adults, which gives them a chance to fully develop their creative abilities and widen their basic knowledge not only in the sphere of science and research, but also in educational activities. Subsequently, they can increase their qualification by passing doctoral (PhD.) studies as well.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates of the occupational therapy bachelor programme acquire qualification to work as an occupational therapist pursuant to § 7 of Act No. 96/2004 Coll. and as such they are entitled to perform the regulated health care profession of an occupational therapist. Graduates can pursue careers in health care services in departments of rehabilitation medicine, in hospitals for long-term care, in rehabilitation and day centres, in outpatient care, social services, community based services, palliative nursing, in prevocational and vocational rehabilitation programs, in special schools, and the commercial sphere (ergonomics, counselling, compensatory aids). Occupational therapists are involved in the rehabilitation of children, adults and the elderly with different kinds of disabilities. The goal is to help achieve a maximum level of self-sufficiency. They are also involved in education of family members and/or well persons in relation to prevention of their possible health problems that may arise.
