The doctoral study programme of "Church and General History" is focused on the scientifical and independent research work in the field of history of christianity on the background of general development of history human society. There is an accentuated interdisciplinary connection between church history and related disciplins like general history, auxiliary sciences of history, archeology, christian iconography, literature science and theology (mostly biblical, patrological and liturgy science). There are the nearer specializations on the concret christian ages:

Graduate profile for the public:
The graduate is capable of three languages from which latin and german is necessary for the work of czech historian. The third language is voted according graduates specializations. He/she knows historian´s craft The graduate is capable of three languages from which latin and german is necessary for the work of czech historian. The third language is voted according of graduates specializations. He/she is able to use historian´s craft, i. e. auxiliary historical sciences and historical methods. He/she knows methodological streams of contemporary historiography and he/she is capable of independent research work. He/she can lead and teach advanced students, too. The graduate can connected history with theology and other historical disciplins with special regards to history of liturgy, literature and arts.
The graduate finds employment in the whole spectrum of research institutions, in cultural and educations institutions, in interest, social, church and political organisations, e. g. in historical, arthistorical or literature museums or galeries, or in other assosiations which deal with presentation of european culture heritage.
