The aim of PhD study in Didactics of Biology is to prepare qualified researchers focusing on the study of topics connected with the biology education at the primary and secondary levels and with the preparation of biology teachers. The study is characterized by an interdisciplinary conception combining two domains, i.e. science and research methodology with current tasks of the didactics of biology, pedagogy, and psychology. Didactics of biology with the needful interdisciplinary overlaps, student research projects and other creative activities of the students are the focus of this study. Graduates will be able to assert themselves at the colleges' didactical workplaces, in research institutes that concern themselves with the problematics of education in biology, at the primary and secondary schools as highly-qualified biology teachers, at the workplaces dealing with further teacher training, and in the international and European institutions and organizations focused at the countrywide and international research in the area of biology or science education.

Graduate profile for the public:
The PhD study graduates will be ready for the independent scientific, pedagogic and management work in this area.
