The primary aim is to offer applicants an academic-oriented modern programme of study which combines contemporary education in cultural anthropology with innovated traditional ethnological approaches, providing an understanding of both the current issues of today’s globalized world (e.g. migration, ethnicity, nationalism), as well as their historical roots and continuities (cultural memory, material culture, folklore, to name but a few topics).

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology have an excellent grounding in the social, cultural, religious and linguistic diversity of human communities. The programme has provided them with a thorough knowledge of research topics in ethnology and cultural anthropology and very good skills in at least one major foreign language. Moreover, graduates have a grounding in issues related to contemporary ethnic, religious and linguistic communities, especially European, and know the social, cultural and historical contexts of these issues. They obtained a theoretical background and practical training in qualitative field research as the principal methodological approach of the degree programme.
