The primary aim of the follow-up Master’s study programme in East European Studies is to train qualified experts with an excellent knowledge of one language spoken in the region (skills at C2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) – with students of a single-subject programme required to gain everyday communication skills (at B1 level) in one other language of the region – and, depending on the module selected, a solid grounding in the geographical, linguistic, cultural and social specificities of the respective country (Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, countries in the Southern Caucasus – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) set in a broader context of the area and Europe.
